Ice Cream Review | Ben & Jerry’s Salted Caramel Core

Do I love ice cream? You betcha! Do I love caramel? It’s my favorite! So you’d think a review of Ben & Jerry’s Salted Caramel Core would be a knockout, right? Well, we’ll see about that!

“Sweet Cream Ice Cream with Blond Brownies & a Salted Caramel Core.” Yes please!

When I peeled the lid off I was treated to a glorious sight: lots of gooey caramel!

And when I say gooey, I mean gooey!

So how did it taste? Pretty amazing! The sweet cream ice cream base has a more subtle flavor than your typical vanilla. The blondie pieces are amazing – though a little small. They have a lovely chewy texture.

The real star though is the caramel. I’ve read other reviews that say the caramel is very salty. Not for me! Certainly there’s a salt element to it, but this is called salted caramel core. My main complaint with most salted caramel products is that they’re really just caramel products. This one actually has a noticeable salt element to it. It wasn’t too overpowering for me, but your mileage may vary.

I do have one complaint though: I’ve had probably five pints of this since it first came out and three of them have had caramel all the way through the core, while the other two only had caramel about 2/3 of the way down. It’s a pretty bigger bummer to get to the bottom and discover you’re out of caramel just when it matters most!
